As we know, the playing table in all casinos will be semi-oval in shape. The flat portion will be occupied by the dealer and the oval portions by players. The dealers back will be to a central area, which is in between several tables called ‘pit’. This is also the portion, where you will be able to locate the casino management personnel called ‘Pit Boss’.

The number of seats allotted to the players will usually range from 5 to 7, and they will be defined by certain rectangles over the felt table.

You will also find a sign on the table, which will be there for indicating the type of blackjack game going on, kind of insurance pays, table rules, blackjack pays, the table maximum bet etc. Since almost all casinos are busy, especially during weekends, it is obvious that the minimum will be increased sometimes.

If you are not that experienced in playing blackjack and not much aware of the rules, then you have to feel free to discuss with the dealer. The dealer is the right person to do so, as he will suggest some good moves. The cash that you place on the table will be dropped into the slot and in turn, you will be offered some chips to carryon with the game. The dealer is not supposed to receive the cash from your hand. He or she can do so if and only if you drop the cash over the table.

You will also be able to find a shoe rectangular device on the table as well. This device, which is made up of plastic or wood will be kept for dropping and dealing with the cards.
